Every spring organization and holding of the student project «Model trial of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine» has already become a good tradition. Totally was held 3 project trials, where maximal true cases were considered. Beside student initiative, professors of the department of the Constitutional Law, leading by the Head of the Department, vice-rector for academic affairs Yuriy Barabash, were the main initiators of holding the event. Main goal of holding of the Constitutional Court model trial is to get knowledge in theory of the constitutional process, practical skills during constitutional justice and skills in a speech to the wide audience. The basis of organization of holding the event among students consists of the Constitutional Law club students, who prepares either themselves or with the help of the Chair professors plot case, constitutional petition, expert resolutions, written positions of the parties and trial participants, resolution of the scientific establishment and other documents of the constitutional proceedings.

Student project «The model trial of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine» is an open event. Students, postgraduates, professors, other academic colleagues and also invited guests can take part in it.
For the future is being planned to reduce the periodicity between the holding of model trials with the purpose to involve more number of students and to extend the audience.
Year by year students consider more difficult cases. Thus on the first student trial of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine was considered the case, which has already been considered in a real trial of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, concerning the acknowledgement of the presidential decree, which determined his foreign powers, as unconstitutional. On the second model trial was considered the case about the acknowledgement of some parts of the Act of Ukraine “On deputies elections to Verkhovna Rada of Autonomic republic Crimea, local councils and rural, village, city heads” 06.04.2004, № 1667- IV, as unconstitutional, namely about the constitutionality of proportional electoral system for local elections.

This year students complicated the task for themselves and with the help of the Constitutional Law Department professors partially modeled the case, changing some parts of electoral acts of Ukraine. As follows the “subject of constitutional petition” turned to the student Constitutional Court of Ukraine with a petition about the consideration of the issue of constitutionality of the Act of Ukraine “On elections of deputies of Ukraine” article 2. According to the Act citizens, who lives abroad, were deprived to elect a half of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. On the trial were present a vice-rector for educational work, the Head of the Constitutional law Department, doctor of law sciences Y.G. Barabash, an outstanding constitutionalist, doctor of Law, the Permanent representative of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, academician of the National Academy of Law Sciences of Ukraine, doctor of law sciences, professor Anatoliy Selivanov, a vice-rector for teaching work, academician of the National Academy of Law Sciences of Ukraine, the Head of the Civil process Department, doctor of law sciences, professor Vyacheslav Komarov.
Students of National University “Yaroslav the Wise Law academy of Ukraine” performed a high knowledge and training in dealing with new challenges facing the constitutional justice.
